We are thrilled to introduce our next pastor, Kristy Vits! Kristy was born in New Jersey when her father was a student at Princeton Theological Seminary. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BA in History but started out majoring in studio art. She and her husband both graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Kristy served churches in Missouri and Illinois before moving back to Texas in 2009. In addition to her work as a pastor, she was a paralegal before seminary and a development officer for Austin Seminary before beginning her current call.
Kristy and her husband have a son, who is a freshman at Austin College. Her family also includes three super fluffy Shetland sheepdogs, Charlie, Emi, and Arthur and Hazel the tuxedo cat. She loves serving as a pastor and is inspired every day by the wonderful work of loving and serving people in need!
We’re excited to welcome Kristy to Covenant in July and grateful for the path that led us here. Throughout the search process, we’ve seen God’s faithfulness in big and small ways. Kristy brings a new energy and a deep love for ministry, and we’re looking forward to growing in faith and community together.
